Boost Math: K–8 math intervention and practice that connects to core instruction
Assessment data can show which students need support, but teachers still need to decide how to group those students, what to teach, and how intervention connects to current instruction.
Working alongside mCLASS® Math, Boost Math® recommends topic-based groups and ready-to-use learning pathways, helping teachers move from insight to targeted support with less planning and guesswork.
From math assessment data to targeted instruction
Teachers need more than data—they need clear next steps. Boost Math uses data to recommend topic-based instructional groupings, then connects students to the right mix of teacher-led intervention, independent practice, math fluency, and extension activities.

Our approach
Boost Math supports tiered intervention and targeted practice by connecting assessment data to ready-to-use learning pathways. Students receive support based on the topics they’re learning now, so intervention builds the precursor skills and grade-level understanding they need to engage with core math instruction.
Stay connected to grade-level math.
Boost Math uses current grade-level topics as the anchor for support. The Practice Pathway strengthens grade-level understanding, while the Intervention Pathway builds the precursor skills students need to access the current topic.
Keep teachers at the center.
Boost Math recommends topic-based groups and instructional pathways based on assessment data.
The best part? Teachers stay in control and can review, adjust, and assign support at any time.

Combine teacher-led instruction and meaningful practice.
Ready-to-use Number Sense Warm-Ups and Mini-Lessons support teacher-led small groups, while Personalized Learning, Fluency Practice, Centers, and Extensions give students varied ways to build understanding.
Monitor progress and adjust support.
mCLASS Math progress monitoring and reporting help educators see how students are responding; make informed instructional adjustments; and maintain visibility across classrooms, schools, and student groups.

What’s included in Boost Math
Boost Math includes all the assessments, data-driven recommendations, and ready-to-use resources needed to support K–8 classrooms.

Assessment insights that inform ongoing support
Amplify’s math assessments help educators identify risk, understand student thinking, and determine where support is needed. With Boost Math, educators can track student growth, evaluate whether support is working, and adjust instruction over time.
Topic-based recommendations
Boost Math translates assessment insights into recommended Intervention and Practice and Intervention Pathways, which are connected to the grade-level topics students are currently learning. Recommendations refresh using the most relevant assessment data with each new topic, helping teachers adjust support as student needs change while also keeping intervention and practice aligned to core instruction.

Ready-to-use resources
Boost Math gives teachers a coordinated set of print and digital resources that can fit into existing intervention blocks, small-group rotations, and classroom routines.
- Number Sense Warm-Ups build flexible mathematical thinking.
- Mini-Lessons offer targeted precursor-skill support.
- Personalized Learning with Responsive Feedback™ provides just-in-time support.
- Fluency Practice builds automaticity and confidence.
- Centers (K–5), Extensions, and Math Adventures give students opportunities for collaborative practice and enrichment.
Why choose Boost Math?
Boost Math helps educators support tiered math intervention and targeted practice without separating students from the grade-level math they’re expected to learn.
Boost Math
- Teachers receive assessment insights that connect directly to topic-based groups and recommended pathways.
- Intervention builds precursor skills connected to current grade-level topics.
- Teachers review recommendations and lead targeted small-group instruction.
- Resources fit flexibly within intervention blocks, small-group rotations, and existing classroom routines.
- Assessment, intervention, practice, and core instruction work as one coherent system.
Other programs
- Teachers may need to interpret reports and find separate instructional resources.
- Intervention may follow a separate, below-grade-level sequence disconnected from core.
- Intervention may rely primarily on independent digital practice.
- More prescriptive models may require dedicated schedules or staffing in order to be implemented.
- Separate tools can create fragmented data and instruction.
One integrated math solution
As part of Amplify’s comprehensive math suite, Boost Math builds on mCLASS Math assessment data to connect students to targeted, core-aligned intervention and practice. Topic-based recommendations help teachers quickly identify who needs support, what to teach, and how to respond, while keeping grade-level learning at the center.
Everything works together in one connected system, bringing screening and progress monitoring, core instruction, teacher-led intervention, and meaningful practice into a more coherent approach to MTSS.

Frequently asked questions about Boost Math
Get answers to common questions about implementing Boost Math and using it to support a coherent, flexible Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Boost Math is a K–8 math intervention and practice program powered by mCLASS Math. It connects assessment insights to topic-based instructional groups, teacher-led intervention, grade-level practice, and progress monitoring.
Boost Math is designed for grades K–8 and for educators who want to connect assessment data to targeted math instruction. The program supports district and school leaders implementing MTSS; math coaches; intervention specialists; and classroom teachers who need flexible ways to support students during intervention blocks, WIN (What I Need) time, or small-group rotations. Because Boost Math includes both Intervention and Practice Pathways, the program can support students who need targeted teacher-led intervention as well as those ready to reinforce or extend their grade-level learning.
Boost Math includes access to mCLASS Math—our complete benchmark and progress-monitoring assessment system, which measures proficiency, reveals students’ mathematical thinking, and helps teachers plan instruction—so educators can screen students, track progress, and deliver targeted support in one connected experience. With detailed reports, educators can quickly identify learning needs, adjust instruction, and support every student’s progress toward grade-level learning.
Boost Math targets the foundational skills students need to engage with the grade-level math they’re currently learning, rather than placing them in a disconnected remediation loop. The Practice Pathway reinforces grade-level concepts through aligned practice, while the Intervention Pathway provides teacher-leed support on precursor skills tied to the current topic. This helps students address learning gaps while continuing to make progress in core instruction.
Boost Math includes both print and digital materials. Teachers can use printable Mini-Lessons for teacher-led intervention, and printable Extensions for small-group instruction, while students work independently on digital practice activities. This balance supports intervention blocks, small-group rotations, and flexible MTSS routines.
When teachers select a new Boost Math Topic, data most closely aligned to that grade-level content is used to update pathway recommendations. Rather than placing students into a single intervention track based on one assessment score, this approach supports more responsive grouping practices within an MTSS and helps ensure that intervention remains connected to grade-level learning.
We know teachers know their students best, so recommendations remain fully teacher-controlled, allowing educators to review, adjust, or override placements at any time within a Topic based on their expertise.
Boost Math connects intervention and practice to the grade-level topics students are currently learning, making it easy to use alongside a range of core math programs. Within Boost Math there are instructional resources aligned to major core math programs, including: Amplify Desmos Math, enVision Mathematics, Eureka Math², Illustrative Mathematics, Into Math, i-Ready Classroom Mathematics, and Reveal Math.

Boost Math supports the use of an MTSS by connecting assessment, instructional grouping, targeted support, practice, and progress monitoring in one grade-level-aligned system. Using mCLASS Math data, Boost Math recommends a topic-specific Intervention or Practice or Intervention Pathway for each student. Recommendations are refreshed as students begin new topics, helping educators respond to current needs rather than placing students in a fixed track based on a single score.
