Updates

Platform updates

As of Dec. 1, 2025, teachers are able to filter Stream by student name and see all assignments for a particular student. This includes the ability to preview student work right from the Stream to check in on student progress.

And coming this back-to-school season, Activity landing pages are being redesigned to provide a left sidebar and a set of tabs such as About, Screens, Assignments, and Resources. By elevating lesson screens to the top of the page and adding clear tabs, teachers will be able to immediately see each lesson and more easily access assignments, differentiation, additional practice, and other resources, ensuring a predictable, seamless experience.

Also, the facilitation tools Companion Mode, Projector Mode, and Sketch Everywhere will be available across all lesson types to offer teachers a more flexible, engaging presentation experience with real-time annotation, private notes, and mobile control.

Amplify CKLA 3rd Edition program improvements

Throughout the next couple of months and into the new school year, you can expect several exciting updates to your Amplify CKLA experience, including:

  • Caregiver-facing letters that summarize student performance on each end-of-unit assessment.
  • The availability of K-2 Read-Aloud Videos to support student absences
  • Teacher Presentation Screens assignable to students who need access on their own devices.
  • Teacher Moves that will be easier to use in Companion Mode on a second device or in another tab.
Three pastel-colored cards labeled “Nursery Rhymes and Fables,” “Different Lands, Similar Stories,” and “Greek Myths” display CKLA Read Alouds with lesson numbers, highlighting engaging stories from diverse traditions.

Assigning to individuals and groups

As of Dec. 15, educators can assign activities to select students and even name the group they’ve selected for future use in the Assign feature. Named groups created at the moment of assigning will be saved in the Admin Portal and will display as options within the Assign module under the Groups tab. Group management actions, such as creating or editing groups, adding or removing staff or students, and group deletion will happen in the Admin portal.

Digital assessment enhancements

We’re also improving the user experience of our digital assessments for the new school year, adding in open-ended questions and a three-point scoring rubric. These features will make them an even more powerful and time-saving tool to gather data about the students in your classroom. Digital assessments were designed to help teachers understand if students are learning to comprehend text and vocabulary, as well as develop various components of comprehension.

New instructional routines videos

Exemplar videos demonstrate best practices and help you implement Amplify CKLA with confidence. Instructional routine videos and PDFs for K–2 Skills are embedded directly in the program to streamline your lesson preparation and delivery.

New supplemental program: Language Studio

Releasing for the coming back-to-school season, Language Studio is an add-on program that uses the same structure, knowledge sequence, and Science of Reading foundation of Amplify CKLA to help multilingual/English learners (ML/ELs) access core content and strengthen language skills. These lessons preview and reinforce Amplify CKLA 3rd Edition content to meet the needs of all K–5 ML/ELs.

This supplemental program is available to purchase for an extra cost.

New Grades 4 and 5 Skills supplements

Also available for the new school year: Grades 4 and 5 Skills instruction. Similar to Grade 3 Skills, Grades 4 and 5 Skills supplements are a flexible component for reteaching and additional practice. You can use these extra lessons to support core instruction or serve as an intervention, depending on your students’ needs. Instruction follows a familiar sequence and can be taught flexibly, in either two 15-minute sessions or one 30-minute session.

This supplemental program is available to purchase for an extra cost.

For Amplify CKLA and Boost Reading users: Data-Driven Differentiation

Available for teachers of Amplify CKLA and Boost Reading for the new school year, the Data-Driven Differentiation feature will inform teachers of instructional moments in Amplify CKLA lessons in which they can effectively differentiate support for all student needs and provide up-to-date insights about their students’ skill proficiency using data from Boost Reading.
