Literacy: For mCLASS Texas Edition and mCLASS Lectura, most submeasures take approximately one minute per student and are administered one-on-one. Group measures like Maze, Spelling, and Vocabulary take 3–15 minutes per class.

Math: A single mCLASS Math Texas benchmark administration takes 30–40 minutes and is completed independently by students on a device.

Any certified educator, teacher assistant, interventionist, or trained school staff member who has completed Amplify’s Launch training can administer mCLASS. No specialized technical degrees or external certifications are required. Training is available onsite or virtually.

Amplify offers a comprehensive six-hour Administration and Instruction Essentials for Teachers session for mCLASS Texas Edition and Lectura, and a three-hour Asset-Based Assessment Training for mCLASS Math Texas. Leader-training sessions are three hours. All training can be delivered in person or remotely. Ongoing self-paced resources, embedded videos, and Amplify’s full PD Library are also available at no additional cost.

After each benchmark window, teachers can generate a Home Connect Letter: a family-friendly summary of a student’s reading or math performance. mCLASS Texas Edition Home Connect Letters are available in English, Spanish, and 15 additional languages, while mCLASS Math K–5 offers Spanish translation support. The mCLASS Caregiver Hub and Home Connect Activities site provide additional at-home support resources for families, with language availability varying by program and resource.

For literacy, mCLASS instructional recommendations and activities complement core curricula aligned to the Science of Reading and can be delivered by teachers, paraprofessionals, or interventionists.

For math, mCLASS Math Texas is compatible with a wide range of core programs, including Bluebonnet.

Literacy: mCLASS offers full English- and Spanish-screening parity through mCLASS Texas Edition and mCLASS Lectura. The Dual Language Report provides side-by-side performance data and identifies opportunities for the transfer of cross-linguistic skills. Reliability and validity analyses across both subjects are disaggregated by emergent bilingual status, and assessment tools have been reviewed for bias across demographic groups.

Math: mCLASS Math provides accessibility through content, audio, images, and language options. It honors various ways of thinking by accepting a wide variety of correct answer formats to open-response questions.

Yes. mCLASS supports data sharing in accordance with Texas Student Data System (TSDS) standards and is aligned with Ed-Fi API guidelines for seamless interoperability with Texas Education Exchange tools. Results can also be exported as CSV files for upload into student information systems.
