Initial training for teachers

Initial training sessions are designed for educators who are new to our program. In our initial training session, educators are oriented to the key components of the program, including learning how to navigate, teach, and monitor student progress, while exploring content and program resources. Participants will leave the session with foundational knowledge and skills necessary to begin teaching with the program.*

Note: Teachers using both Amplify ELAR and SLAR K–5 should substitute this session with the initial training for teachers biliteracy session facilitated in both English and Spanish.

Biliteracy enhancement options
Biliteracy Launch and Strengthen sessions are available to support educators teaching with both Amplify ELAR and SLAR K–5. These sessions are available as a 6-hour on-site or virtual overview.

Launch: Amplify ELAR and SLAR initial training
On-site or virtual, 6 hours
Available: Early summer 2024
Biliteracy initial training sessions are designed for educators who are new users of Amplify ELAR and SLAR K–5. In this session, educators are oriented to the key components of each program. These include learning how to navigate, teach, and monitor student progress while exploring content, program resources, and the connections between the two curriculums. Participants will leave the session with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to begin implementing both curriculums in their particular biliteracy model.
Audience: Individual teachers, grade-level teams, PLCs,
and/or instructional leaders (maximum 30 participants)
Language: This session is facilitated in both English and Spanish.
Strengthen: Amplify ELAR and SLAR Enhancing planning for teachers
On-site or virtual, 3 hours
Available: Mid-fall 2024
Deepen teachers’ understanding of their next ELAR and SLAR K–5 unit with in a step-by-step unit- and lesson-planning protocol. Educators will leave prepared to implement their next ELAR and SLAR K–5 unit with a completed unit plan and internalized lessons for their particular biliteracy model.
Audience: Teachers, instructional staff (maximum 30 participants)
Language: This session is facilitated in both English and Spanish.
Strengthen: Amplify ELAR and SLAR Enhancing practice for teachers
On-site or virtual, 3 hours
Available: Mid-fall 2024
Practice implementing key lesson routines to strengthen your Amplify ELAR and SLAR instruction. Educators will leave with guidelines for routines they can implement in their biliteracy classroom tomorrow.
