Supporting CKLA 2nd Edition students at home

Dear educator,

Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) has developed resources to support our school and district partners in making instructional materials available for students who may be unable to attend school. We’re also sharing guidance for parents and guardians on how to access Amplify CKLA at home.

Guidance to Schools for teaching Amplify CKLA 2nd Edition remotely

We recommend sending students home with the following kit components:

  • Student Readers
  • Activity Book pages
  • Parent/guardian letter

If your district does not have access to these print materials, Amplify has made the following accommodations to our core materials to support districts during this time.

  • Student Activity Book pages will be printable for a limited time through a password-protected website. You will receive the login information for this site via a chat notification on the teacher resource site. Look for the orange button in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. If you do not receive the chat or are having problems accessing the website with the print materials, please contact the Amplify support team (information below).
  • We have created a login so parents can access the teacher resource site and support their students with e-books, audiobooks, knowledge builders, etc. The parent credentials will also be shared via the chat feature on the teacher resource site. Please note, we are actively working on resources that will make these materials accessible to parents more broadly for the ‘20/’21 school year.

Free K-2 and 3-5 lessons for learning at home

We have created materials for educators to share with families that can be completed at home, independently or teacher-led. The K-2 read-aloud experiences and 3-5 novel guides can be viewed online, with supporting PDFs that can be downloaded and printed. Please share freely with families and fellow teachers.
