Welcome to Amplify's Texas K–8 site

Overview

Texas and Amplify have had a successful alliance since 2003. Together, we revolutionized data-driven assessment and instruction.

We are excited to expand our partnership with Texas educators, providing next-generation curriculum and assessment.

Amplify’s assessment, mCLASS® Texas Edition, is the Texas Education Agency-sponsored FREE alternative Reading Diagnostic Tool for Kindergarten, as legislated by HB3. mCLASS Texas Edition grades 1 and 2 have been submitted to the Texas Education Agency to be considered for the approved list of free diagnostic tools. Science of Reading

Science of Reading toolkit:

At Amplify, we believe in the Science of Reading and have built our programs based on the latest research. To support educators to deepen understanding of reading science, we have created a toolkit to help inform best practices. We’ve curated articles with the best research on how kids learn to read—from how the brain learns to decode, to strategies you can bring back to your classroom, school, and district.

To continue the conversation around this research, join educator colleagues for our Science of Reading: The Podcast.

Our approach

  • Explicit, systematic foundational skills will develop excellent readers
  • Easy-to-use lessons systematically cover 100% of foundational skills standards, setting every student up to succeed.
  • A powerful, knowledge-based approach to reading comprehension
  • Our more intentional approach to background knowledge allows students to build a robust knowledge base.

Dyslexia

Begins with screening and identification

The mCLASS assessment and intervention suite is a multi-dimensional assessment system that offers a single solution for screening and intervention. This allows for more time with students, addressing deficiencies instead of trying to analyze disconnected data points.

  • Quick and actionable reports
  • Easily managed implementation of intervention that can be teacher-led, student-driven, or a combination of both.

mCLASS Intervention

mCLASS Intervention follows a research-based skills
progression and uses smart technology to analyze assessment results to place each student on the progression, form small groups of students with similar skill profiles, determine the optimal instructional focus for each group, and build detailed lessons aligned to that focus.

Spanish

mCLASS: IDEL provides universal screening for Spanish literacy. In July 2020, mCLASS will offer a full dual-language solution for assessment and instruction, including dyslexia screening in both English and Spanish.

High-quality instructional materials for Texas schools

The Texas Resource Review (TRR) was created to ensure that Texas schools had access to high quality instructional materials.

Amplify is pleased to share that Amplify CKLA and Amplify ELA were submitted for TRR and received high score for TEKS/ELPS Alignment and Quality Review. The full reports are available on the state’s Publisher Portal.

High-quality instructional materials are every student’s right—providing needed background while opening their eyes to a new world. And for you, they mean less time spent hunting for resources and more time making a difference to your students.

Blended learning

Amplify develops digital-first programs specifically for initiatives like the Texas Blended Learning Grant Program.

Amplify Reading

Amplify Reading is a personalized reading program that students can’t wait to play. Whether they are just learning to read or mastering close reading, Amplify Reading helps achieve off-the-charts reading growth in grades K–8.

Adaptive instruction

The program’s patented algorithm places students in the right skill game at the right time, while embedding them in an engaging story world that fits their developmental stage.

ELA

Built specifically for middle school, Amplify ELA is an interactive core curriculum that brings complex texts to life. Amplify ELA inspires students to read more deeply, write more vividly, and think more critically. Students interact with text, each other, and you digitally. This allows for students to grow independently with powerful differentiation and assessment tools. With step-by-step instructional guides you will have the tools you need to ensure the face-to-face part of your blended learning plan is timely and relevant.

Science

Amplify Science blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower Texas students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers.

Amplify Science was designed to give students engaging, realistic experiences that mirror how scientists and engineers actually work. To do this, the Lawrence Hall of Science and Amplify created compelling print and digital resources that work seamlessly together to enable students’ investigations and explorations.

We’d like to invite you to review the program, as well, by providing access to two free sample units.

Want to see what the program looks like in the classroom? We visited schools across the country and put together a video library. Come see Amplify Science in Action.

If you are ready to take the next step in writing your Blended Learning Grant plan, reach out to us directly and we will provide the language and descriptions you can use in your application.
