About Amplify
At this very moment, people all over the world are reading news and information on subjects they're passionate about. They're sitting at their desks, lying on their couches with laptops and riding on buses with iPhones in hand. Many of them are looking for something interesting to read while others are talking to their screens in response to specific ideas, quotes, facts or opinions they've just read. It's usually at that moment that links to articles get shared on Facebook, Twitter or elsewhere.
But what if instead of posting a link to an entire article, you could easily clip and share the specific piece that affected you and engage in conversation beyond the boundaries and limitations of status updates? What if you could connect with other people who are similarly interested in the type of news you have to share and who share the type of news you're often looking for? With Amplify you can.
Amplify integrates with Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Friendfeed and more so you can keep your friends and followers all over the web updated with you latest findings and invite them to discuss them with you.
How will we make money? Amplify will likely be a free ad-supported service that may someday offer optional premium upgrades. In addition to our consumer service, we plan on introducing an enterprise solution for businesses, academic institutions and other organizations some time in 2010.
Amplify was created by Clipmarks, LLC, a New York City based company with four full time employees. Forbes Media, LLC is a minority investor in the Company.
